Giraffe was very hungry.
长颈鹿非常饥饿。
“I don't want to eat leaves,” he said.
“我不想吃叶子了，” 他说，
"I always eat leaves."
“因为我总是吃叶子。”
Giraffe tried eating grass just like a deer.
长颈鹿试着像鹿一样吃草。
But bending down hurt his neck.
但弯腰时弄伤了他的脖子。
Giraffe tried to eat ants just like an anteater.
长颈鹿试图像食蚁兽一样吃蚂蚁。
But ants bit his tongue.
但蚂蚁咬了他的舌头。
Giraffe tried eating honey just like a bear.
长颈鹿试着像熊一样吃蜂蜜。
But bees stung his nose.
但蜜蜂蛰了他的鼻子。
Giraffe tried to eat fish just like an otter.
长颈鹿试着像水獭一样吃鱼。
But he fell in the water and got very wet.
但他掉进水里， 浑身都湿了。
Giraffe tried eating bugs just like a frog.
长颈鹿试着像青蛙一样吃虫子。
But his tongue was not fast enough.
但他的舌头不够快。
Giraffe tried to eat seeds just like a bird.
长颈鹿试着像鸟一样吃种子。
But his lips were too big to pick up the seeds.
但他的嘴唇太大了，拾不起种子。
Giraffe was still hungry.
长颈鹿还是很饿。
He bit into the green leaves hanging from the tree.
他吃了树上的叶子。
"Delicious," he said. "Leaves are the best food."
“真美味，”他说， “树叶是最好吃的食物。”
